Research Use Only
NAD+
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a biochemical research material supplied by Nocap Research strictly for qualified laboratory research use only.
What is NAD+?
NAD+ is nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide in its oxidized form, a dinucleotide coenzyme with CAS registry number 53-84-9, molecular formula C21H27N7O14P2 and a molecular weight of about 663.4 g/mol. It is not a peptide. In biochemistry it serves as a cofactor for dehydrogenase enzymes. Nocap Research supplies it for laboratory research only.
Chemical Identity
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, oxidized form, also catalogued as nadide or coenzyme I) is a dinucleotide made of an adenine nucleotide and a nicotinamide nucleotide joined through their phosphate groups. It is catalogued under CAS registry number 53-84-9 and is described by the molecular formula C21H27N7O14P2, with a molecular weight of approximately 663.4 g/mol. It is not a peptide. In biochemistry it is described as a coenzyme for dehydrogenases and a substrate for NAD-consuming enzymes. Nocap Research offers it solely as a reference material for in vitro laboratory investigation, and nothing on this page describes an effect in humans or animals.

Biochemical Context
In enzymology, NAD+ is the oxidized half of the NAD+/NADH redox pair: dehydrogenase enzymes transfer a hydride to the nicotinamide ring, producing NADH. NAD+ is also consumed as a substrate by several enzyme families, which is why it appears throughout in vitro enzyme-activity and metabolomics research.
Quantitative LC-MS methods for NAD+ and related metabolites are well established, and the compound's synthesis pathways have been reviewed in the enzymology literature.
Physical Form, Handling, and Storage
NAD+ is supplied as a powder. As a laboratory reagent it is generally stored desiccated at -20C and protected from light and moisture, and solutions are typically prepared fresh in a buffer suited to the intended in vitro assay. These notes describe general handling of the material as a research reagent. They are not instructions for use in humans or animals.
Purity and Certificate of Analysis
Nocap Research characterizes its research materials through third-party analytical testing. Purity and identity are commonly assessed using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and mass spectrometry (MS), with results documented on a batch-specific certificate of analysis. A certificate for the current NAD+ batch has not been published yet; contact support to request batch documentation.
